Once deleted, pre-installed system apps cannot be restored |
Here are steps you can try to restore the pre-installed apps. Take Email as an example.
1. Restore via Global search(applicable to MagicOS 7.0 and above versions):
Swipe down on your phone's or tablet's Home screen to access Global search. Type in the name of the app you want to restore (e.g., Email), then tapRestore. If no results appear, proceed to option 2: download the app from App Market.
- Uninstall apps linked to secondary accounts:
If you have a secondary account on your device with a higher version of the app than your primary account, the app may not be restored. In such cases, you'll need to uninstall apps associated with secondary accounts as well. To do so, go to
(skip this step if not applicable), tap the secondary account or visitor account, then uninstall the app. - Uninstall apps from PrivateSpace:
If the previous method doesn’t resolve the issue, attempt to uninstall the app from PrivateSpace.
For users of MagicOS 7.X/8.0, please go to PrivateSpace (skip this step if not applicable).
/ > tap the three dots in the upper right corner > - Disable PrivateSpace or secondary accounts:
If you're unable to uninstall the app, or if it still can't be restored after uninstalling it from PrivateSpace, then back up your data, disable PrivateSpace, secondary accounts and visitor accounts, and try again.
2. Download from App Market:
- This method applies to the pre-installed App Market.
Go to the App Market, search for the app you want to restore, then download and install it.
- If App Market is not installed on your device, you can use Google Play as an alternative.
3. Is the issue solved?
If the problem persists, back up your data and perform a factory reset.
