HONOR View20’s Top 3 Highlights

As a leading smartphone e-brand, HONOR will release HONOR View20, which is a new smartphone powered by Kirin 980 with a 48 MP camera and full-view display at the end of 2018 to give the users a better phone experience.

Then, what is the newly released HONOR smartphone? The answer is HONOR View20

It is said that HONOR View20 will be powered by Kirin 980 with the success of GPU Turbo, and enable the users to enjoy two global-first key important features: the 48 MP rear camera and the HONOR FullView display. These three points will push HONOR View20 to be a good-seller by the end of 2018. Now let’s go on and read the details of HONOR View20’s top 3 highlights: Kirin 980, 48 MP rear camera and full-view display.

1) Kirin 980

HONOR View20’s Kirin 980

The Kirin 980 is the world's first commercial mobile phone SoC chipset made with TSMC's 7 nm process, integrating 6.9 billion transistors to improve both performance and energy efficiency.

It is the first of its kind developed based on ARM Cortex-A76, with a dominant frequency of up to 2.6 GHz. The design of the Kirin CPU subsystem and intelligent flex-scheduling mechanism are ideal for achieving optimal energy efficiency while providing excellent performance. The Kirin 980 is also the world's first commercial SoC chipset that uses the innovative Mali-G76 GPU. With its optimization technology and guaranteed battery life, the Mali-G76 GPU allows users to play massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs) smoothly. The Kirin 980 supports the world's fastest LPDDR4X with the rate up to 2133MHz, 14% faster than the industry average and is the first to integrate dual NPUs. This provides the most powerful AI computing capability available in the industry and offers increased support for AI applications, bringing mobile phones into the smart era. The Kirin 980 is the first to support LTE Cat.21 in the world, which achieves stable and fast mobile communication connections in various complex communication scenarios, with an industry best peak download rate of 1.4 Gbit/s. The Kirin 980 uses Huawei-developed ISP 4.0, improving the pixel throughput by 46%, supporting more cameras, and greatly enhancing the noise reduction and color reproduction capabilities. These features allow mobile users to enjoy clear pictures and good video experiences.

2) 48 MP Rear Camera

HONOR’s industry-first 48 MP rear camera is set to open a new era of smartphone photography. The camera is the first to make possible high-definition 48 effective megapixels photography on a smartphone, delivering top quality images with more and better details even when zoomed in. The technology, coupled with the AI computing power enabled by the Kirin 980 chipset, will provide smartphone users with unmatched photo quality and clarity, rivaling high-end single-lens reflex cameras.

3) HONOR FullView Display

HONOR has also enabled a whole new level of full-view display experience with the introduction of the HONOR FullView Display. This world-first, in-screen front camera design, achieved by an extremely complex 18-layer technology stack that carefully embeds the front camera in the display area of the screen, extends the display area to almost 100%. The innovative HONOR FullView Display solution demonstrates HONOR’s unmoving dedication to usher the evolution of the full-view display, all the way from the bezel-less screen of the 1.0 era through the notched screen of the 2.0 era, to the revolutionary 3.0 era.

The above three features show HONOR’s artistic innovation through a unique fusion of design and technology.
