The computer displays the blue screen of death (BSoD) |
If there is an issue with the system settings or an app is incompatible with the operating system, Windows will automatically stop running and display the BSoD to protect data and the computer from being damaged. If your computer displays the BSoD, try the following solutions:
The computer displays a blue screen repeatedly during startup
Go to My computer constantly displays the BSoD or a black screen when I turn it on to view detailed solutions.
Disable unnecessary startup software
When installing some software, the computer automatically downloads some bundled software which automatically starts when the computer is powered on. As a result, this occupies a large amount of RAM and may lead to BSoD. To avoid this issue, do not download bundled software, or you can open Task Manager and go to the Startup tab to disable unnecessary startup software.
Enter Safe Mode during startup and delete antivirus and monitoring software
After a Windows update, the computer may frequently display the BSoD because of an incompatibility between the previously installed antivirus software or monitoring software and the current operating system. Go to The computer displays a blue screen, black screen, or flickering screen after an update for a solution to the issue.
The computer displays the BSoD after connecting to a USB flash drive, hard drive, or other new hardware
The BSoD issue may be caused by hardware incompatibility. Press and hold the power button for 10s to power off the computer, remove the USB flash drive, hard drive, or other new hardware, and restart the computer.
If the problem persists, back up data and take the computer and proof of purchase to a nearby HONOR customer service center for inspection and repair.
