Problem:
When the phone or tablet battery is charged to 80% or higher, charging stops and the charging icon disappears.
A Smart Charge dialog box is displayed in the notification panel on the phone or tablet, or the Battery screen in Settings indicates that Smart Charge is enabled.

The Smart Charge is a battery protection mechanism. It is a protection mechanism.

Solution:
