Check whether the lens has a protective screen, is dirty, or is blocked by objects
If you use a protective case that is not included with the phone, or if there is a protective screen on or around the lens, it will affect the light transmission and focus function of the camera, causing glare, blur, inaccurate focus, can not identify macro mode, and other abnormalities.
Remove the protective case and the protective screen, clean the camera and its surroundings with a soft cloth in one direction, and restart the phone.
Adjust focus before taking a picture
When taking a picture (video), you can tap the viewfinder to focus, if the preview goes from blurry to clear, it means your phone's focus function is normal. If the preview stays blurred, it may be an abnormality in your phone's focus function. We suggest you backup your data and bring your device and the proof of purchase to an authorized HONOR service center for assistance.
Keep your phone steady while taking pictures
You need to keep your phone steady while shooting. When shooting a distant object, carefully select the zoom level. The larger the zoom level, the smaller the viewing angle. As the object gets zoomed in, the image becomes more sensitive to shake. When using a high zoom level, use a tripod for stationary or a gimbal for moving objects to reduce camera shake. Turn on Timer to avoid the shake when touching the screen. You can also plug in your headphones and use the volume buttons to control the shooting.
Check whether the camera has generated a small picture at the lower-left corner
Wait for a little for the camera to process the photo (until a small picture is generated at the lower-left corner) before moving the phone to avoid blur caused by shaking.
Check if you are using the "High-res" mode
We recommend using the "High-res" mode when shooting in a bright outdoor environment. To enable this mode, go to Camera > More and select the "High-res" mode.
Check whether the blurred photo is taken in a scene with a clear feeling of depth
When shooting in a bright outdoor environment, if you need to take a clear photo that has a clear feeling of depth, we recommend using the "Wide-angle" mode for a better field of view and result.
Do not get too close when shooting close objects
To take extreme close-up shots, keep at least 10 cm from the object and manually tap the screen to adjust the focus, then take the shot. Consider using the super macro mode to capture finer details.
Insufficient ambient light or insufficient light when taking photos or videos may also lead to blurred imaging. It is recommended that you turn on the flash or use the night mode when taking photos or videos.
Night mode is in use
In some camera modes, it takes your phone some time to finish processing a photo. For example, in Night mode, the exposure time is long, so movements of your phone or the object you are shooting may lead to blurry photos or videos. Therefore, keep your phone stable during shooting. Using a tripod is recommended.
APERATURE or PORTRAIT mode is in use
APERATURE or PORTRAIT mode automatically blurs the background to make the subject stand out. Such blur is normal. You can use another camera mode if you do not need this blur effect.
Take pictures through the glass
When taking pictures through the glass, the laser focus detects the presence of the glass and may focus on the position of the glass, and since the glass is relatively close, the camera automatically switches to macro mode. This is normal. If the macro mode is used, you can disable the macro mode and manually adjust the focus under the regular mode.
If the issue is still unresolved, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an HONOR Authorized Service Center for assistance.
