Camera won't open
Camera won't open |
If Camera won't open, perform the following to troubleshoot:
1. Check whether any apps are using the camera
For Android phones, the camera can only be accessed by one app at a time. Some apps such as Flashlight and QR code scanner apps may not release the camera promptly due to their design.
- Close the app that is using the camera and try again.
- If you cannot determine which app is using the camera, restart your phone and try again.
2. Restart the device
Some apps do not release Camera after it was used, which can be the reason why it can't be opened. Try restarting your device and opening Camera once again.
3. Clear Camera data
Open Settings, search for and access Apps, locate Camera, then go to .
This operation will reset the camera settings, but will not affect items in Gallery.
4. Check the camera permission for third-party apps
If the app that fails to open the camera is a third-party app, open Settings, search for and access App permissions, touch Take photos or videos/Camera, and enable the permission for the app.
5. Restore your phone to its factory settings
Back up your data and restore your phone to its factory settings:
Open Settings, search for and access Factory data reset, and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the task.
