Focus on Consumer Value Drives Honor’s Global Business Growth

President of HONOR emphasizes the brand’s commitment to quality, innovation and service at GMIC Beijing

[Beijing, China, April 27, 2017] HONOR attended the Global Mobile Internet Conference (GMIC) Beijing 2017 today, with Mr. George Zhao, President of HONOR, delivering a keynote address. In his speech, Mr. Zhao emphasized that a dedicated focus on consumer value driven by product quality, technology innovation and superior service will stay at the center of HONOR’s overall strategy in 2017 and beyond. A proactive innovator in the industry, HONOR will continue to invest heavily in artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies for smartphones, creating more inspirational products that take the user experience to the next level.

“While an e-commerce business model enables smartphone brands to enhance efficiency, long-term success is always rooted in non-stop improvement in product features and user experience, especially when market growth slows, as it has globally in recent years,” said Mr. Zhao. “HONOR will continue to invest in innovation, explore new technology areas like artificial intelligence and also seek to make further progress in addressing key customer concerns such as battery life and camera capabilities. We will evolve our products to better suit what younger generations want from their mobile devices, while also boldly incorporating fresh elements from the worlds of fashion, design and entertainment to create a trend-setting brand.”

Four months into 2017, HONOR has achieved strong business momentum both in China and across its international markets. In China, with a record 10.52 million units sold, HONOR led in online sales volume among all smartphone brands in Q1 2017.

HONOR also strengthened its brand internationally, with the HONOR 6X earning ten awards from a range of global technology and business media outlets following its global launch at CES 2017 in January. The device has been described as the best smartphone in its price range, delivering exceptional value for money.

In early March, the EMUI5.1 update was made available to HONOR users globally. Leveraging various machine learning and AI capabilities, the upgraded software enables smarter and more efficient management of phone features, ensuring consistently high performance across the device’s lifetime.

On April 5, HONOR unveiled to international markets the HONOR 8 Pro – its smartest and best-performing smartphone to date. Coming in at the 500 euro price range, the HONOR 8 Pro offers a market-leading price-performance ratio by pushing the boundary of smartphone design, providing extra-long battery life (enabled by its 4,000 mAh battery) and delivering powerful performance (powered by the Kirin 960 chipset and 6GB of RAM). These advancements ensure the HONOR 8 Pro delivers the best experience across the scenarios that today’s smartphone users care most about, such as video streaming, gaming and social sharing.

Looking ahead, HONOR has lined up several more competitive products for 2017 featuring breakthroughs in technology and design that will spearhead the brand’s business growth in key target markets including Western Europe, Russia, the Middle East, etc.

GMIC is an influential mobile internet conference that brings together industry influencers and players together to exchange insights about innovations and jointly explore the future of technology. 2017 marks the third consecutive year that HONOR has participated in the event.
