HONOR 9X: Capture Xtraodinary Moments

Photographs can do more than just look pretty — they have the power to capture a mood. If an image can bring a place or event to life, it can make the viewer feel something, which makes looking at a photograph a more meaningful experience.

We think that William Toh has perfectly captured the feeling of being in a busy city in the picture below by using the HONOR 9X camera's Light painting feature. Cars speed by on both sides of the road like neon rivers, and as viewers, we feel like we're the only static part of the scene, which further accentuates its dynamic feeling.

Capturing the feeling of a moment seems to be an interest of William's. The following image makes us feel like we're stuck in a heavy downpour at night. The street light above illuminates the driving rain, and lights up the raindrops splashing on the road. You have to feel sorry for that poor motorcyclist…

But sometimes, when the subject matter is really impressive, the best approach is to simply try and capture it as faithfully as possible. In the image below, the magnificence of Kuala Lumpur's famous Petronas Twin Towers is accentuated by perfect framing, giving a sense of symmetry to the picture.

Malaysia isn't all about skyscrapers and busy traffic though, and William has captured another side to the country with this more peaceful image. We think this low-angle shot gives an interesting perspective on this building, as its curved roof juts out proudly into the cloudy sky above.

But William's works aren't limited to places. We think he's great at capturing the personalities of people, too. We can only see the eyes of the man in the image below, but eyes are the windows to the soul as the saying goes, and these few inches are enough to give us an idea of his personality. As he stares into the distance at the task ahead, we see a glimpse of his determination and diligence.
