我的荣耀 开启荣耀之旅
[New York, USA – February 8th, 2024] Following the official recognition of the Chinese New Year as a United Nations (UN) holiday last year, people from all around the world have eagerly anticipated the arrival of the Year of the Loong. On February 8, the UN headquarters in New York hosted an art exhibition with the theme “Dragon on Tour, Global Celebration of the Chinese New Year”, where works created by the global HONOR Talents community were showcased. Supported by the Permanent Mission of the People’s Republic of China to the UN, this exhibition is a collaborative effort between HONOR, the UNSRC Chinese Book Club, Global Times and the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA). The exhibited works skillfully blended the imagery of the Loong with artistic elements from around the world and invited UN officials to embark on a global cultural and artistic journey.
The showcased collection of Loong was created by specially invited designers of HONOR Talents, incorporating the imagery of the Loong with reference to local customs, intangible cultural heritage, iconic landmarks, culinary culture and mythical legends from various countries and regions. In addition, the designers employed iconic buildings as backdrops to demonstrate their creative works. Not only do these artworks express a unique New Year blessing to the world, they also integrate traditional Chinese culture with global cultures, promoting global understanding and appreciation for China.
Among the talented pool of designers behind the over 25,000 submissions, there were participants from HONOR Talents who showed exceptional creativity. The competition also featured esteemed global judges and renowned artists who have made significant contributions to contemporary art. Together, they celebrated the Year of Loong through the power of art and closed the HONOR Talents Global Design Award 2023 on a high note.

“What’s Going on in the Stone”, art Installation by Shi Yuan, CAFA
The art installation “What’s Going on in the Stone”, created by Shi Yuan from CAFA, has been awarded Global First Place. Drawing inspiration from Han Dynasty portrait stones, the installation invites viewers to use flashlights to explore the activities of people in the recreated Han Dynasty restaurant. Meanwhile, Tang Min was honored with the Best New Talent Award for her piece titled “Exploration”. This artwork vividly portrays a pair of disabled sisters as they pursue dreams, listen attentively, and gaze into a sea of flowers, reflecting their yearning to explore the world, their courage, and their aspiration for a better life. During the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2023, Professor Shahbaz Khan, representative of the UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office for East Asia, praised this artwork as the most impressive piece exhibited that day.
