Tech for Good, HONOR Dedicates to Bridge the Digital Divide in Remote Area

[Merida, Mexico, December 13th, 2023] At the end of 2023, HONOR brought empowerment of technology to the remote areas in Mexico. Holding a donation ceremony with the president of Fundación Dondé, Eduardo Dondé de Teresa, director of the education module, Lilia Irene Durán González, HONOR contributed their HONOR Pads to help construct the future of education and development for youth.

Fundación Dondé, a non-profit organization established in 1919, aims to develop the capacity of children and adolescents in marginalized communities to explore the future. They are dedicated to providing educational tools and financial solutions to foster self-worth, unique talents, and problem-solving skills among students, helping them overcome daily life challenges. Their educational modules emphasize self-esteem, value acquisition, future visioning, and conflict management. Over its century-long history, Fundación Dondé has impacted over 750,000 children and young people, establishing more than 100 centers across Mexico.

HONOR visited one of the centers in Merida and experienced the children's psychology session and course on plant knowledge. The donation of HONOR tablets will encompass 5 centers of Fundación Dondé, meant to integrate modern technology into the classroom to inspire students' dreams and aspirations, reinforcing the belief that external limitations can be transcended through self-belief and perseverance, meeting the goal of no one left behind in the tech world.

Lilia, director of the education module, indicates that they tend to let students explore the technology by themselves and share the outcomes with their classmates, achieving the goal of using the technology as a tool to interact with the world, instead of teaching them to use technology products hand by hand.

Tech for Good is embodied in HONOR’s business practice, utilizing technology to promote the development of education to empower youth in disadvantaged areas. Soon, HONOR will strengthen its cooperation with Fundación Dondé to bridge the digital divide in remote areas.
