HONOR Talents Global Design Awards 2023 Calls for Submissions from Creative Minds

Empowering Young Talent’s to Unleash Their Potential with Art and Technology

[Shenzhen, China – May  29, 2023] Global technology brand HONOR has announced the official launch of the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards 2023. With the competition running until 8^th October, HONOR is set to receive a diverse array of technology-inspired artwork from creative minds around the world.

As part of the wider HONOR Talents initiative, HONOR is celebrating the creativity and talents of youth with the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards, HONOR Talents Developer Awards, HONOR Talents Original Music Awards, and HONOR Talents Tech Innovation Awards. The campaign aims to foster improvements and cultural exchange in the worlds of technology and art.

At the HONOR 90 launch event, HONOR has unveiled three exclusive phone cases designed by previous award-winning HONOR Talents artists, including the playful Cats-tival, the auspicious Lion Dance, and the environmentally evocative Circle of Life.

New Categories with Attractive Prizes

As an important component of the HONOR Talents program, the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards is adding more categories and prizes in its fourth year. Since 2022’s groundbreaking MagicOS launch, HONOR has furthered its commitment to delivering unparalleled, seamless user experiences with AI technology. In response to the accelerating development of AI, the Award is the first in the industry to welcome AIGC design proposals, encouraging young talents to innovate and express themselves with AI technology. The Awards accepts submissions in five categories across two streams, ranging from Wallpapers, Themes, Watches, and Open Designs, to Art and Technology. The prize pool offered this year is over RMB 850,000 with a total of 97 awards, including the Global Championship, Top Three in Each Category, Judges' Choice Award , Best New Talent Award, AIGC Innovation Award , and Best Interactive Participation Award.

In addition to a generous and diverse array of prizes, the winners will be offered exchange, internship, and job opportunities in the industry, encouraging the next generation to unleash their creativity and potential. In an effort to inspire and reward authentic designs, winners will be verified as HONOR Themes designers with commission for their winning awards available in the themes store.

Distinguished Judging Panel Comprised of Industry Professionals

Acting as a benchmark for global design competitions, HONOR has invited world-renowned artists and experts in the field to sit on the judging panel of the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards 2023. On the jury are Prof. Ma Sai from Tsinghua University, the Dean of its Academy of Arts and Designs; Prof. Ma Juncheng from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, China, who is also the dean of its School of Urban Design; and Prof. Anna Meroni from Politecnico di Milano, who is Deputy Dean of its School of Design. The Awards will act as a precious exchange between distinguished artists and young talents.

Launched in 2020, the annual HONOR Talents Global Design Awards has received a total of over 13,000 submissions from participants in more than 40 countries since its inception, with winning entries made available as themes or other products. This demonstrates how HONOR is committed to empowering young talented designers on global platforms.

In January 2023, HONOR joined hands with the prestige fashion publication WWD in holding the inaugural WWD Fashion Lab, with more than 200 witnesses from the fashion, art, photography, and media industries. Following that, HONOR’s interactive installation art and digital art were recognized by industry professionals at the Shanghai International Digital Art Fair in February. Moreover, HONOR brought its Chinese culture-inspired artworks, Hours Of HONOR and Ensemble, to Milan Design Week 2023, bringing to light the Chinese philosophy on creation and youth’s exploration and reflection on modern issues. Later this year, HONOR will curate a one-of-a-kind art exhibition with Shenzhen Baoan International Airport, allowing travelers to appreciate the fusion of technology and art.
