我的荣耀 开启荣耀之旅
HONOR’s V series which has always been the flagship models. The HONOR View10, which was launched in Dec 2017, has been released for almost one year now. It is the right time now to update it with the latest smartphone technologies.
Luckily, with the official announcement recently, the upcoming smartphone model – HONOR View20 will be available soon. So what new technology shall we expect in the latest View20?
Compared with HONOR View10, the View20 is truly a full screen smartphone, because the latter adopts an under-screen camera, which makes 100% screen-to-body ratio possible. The smartphone screen has become bigger and so does the screen-to-body, to make the smartphone more enjoyable when playing games, watching movies and chatting.
In the contrary, the View10 has only a 78.6% screen-to-body ratio, we should not say View10 is an outdated phone, as it was a popular flagship at the time it was launched. However, as the technology keeps developing, a lot of news features become available on smartphone.
One of the biggest improvements on HONOR View20 over HONOR View10 is the processor. As you may already have learnt about – the Kirin 980.
So why is the processor important?
Processors are all about speed, and speed is all about size. Back at the start of computing, in the early part of the second half of the twentieth Century, computers were huge. What was effectively a glorified calculator would literally take up an entire room and use tons of electricity. As computers got smaller, they were able to get faster too, and do more with the energy they used.
Skip forward a few decades and chips are now manufactured on a scale that is invisible to the naked eye. And that makes them very fast and very powerful, yet also very energy efficient. And each time that scale gets smaller, it represents a leap forward in terms of what is possible. The new Kirin 980 is manufactured on a 7-nanometre scale, as opposed to the Kirin 970's 10-nanometre basis. This world first means that more processing power can be squeezed into each wafer of silicon, which is a good thing for us.
Kirin 980, the world's first 7nm process mobile phone SoC chipset – which compared with the 10nm process (Kirin 970), improves performance by 20%, power efficiency by 40% and the overall energy efficiency of the Kirin 980 increased by 58%.
Kirin 970, at its launch time in 2017, was the newest generation of a super-fast mobile chip incorporating an NPU (Neural-Processing Unit) as the key to its exceptional performance. It was equipped on these smartphones: HONOR View10, HONOR 10, and HONOR Play.

From the comparison, it is obvious to see that the HONOR View20 is a much anticipated update, and a good choice for people who are looking for a flagship smartphone with full screen, fast speed and relatively low price.
