Failed to manually download MMS messages
- MMS requires an active Mobile data connection to work.
Go to , and ensure that Mobile data is allowed for the Messages app
- Swapping your SIM cards between slots when receiving and downloading MMS messages can lead to difficulties in downloading MMS messages. If an MMS was sent to SIM card 1 but it's now in slot 2 (or vice versa), the message might not download correctly.
- Poor network signal can prevent your messages from being downloaded smoothly. Wait for a while and try again.
- If you're attempting to download MMS messages while you're on a call, this can cause the download to fail.
Automatic download doesn't start or fails
- Maintain a continuous Internet connection to ensure your phone successfully downloads MMS messages at all times, including when the screen is off.
Go to and enable Stay connected while asleep.
- MMS requires an active Mobile data connection to work.
Go to, and ensure that Messages allows Mobile data.
- If automatic-download is unavailable when roaming:
Go to Messages > Profile photo> Settings> Advanced, and turn on Retrieve automatically when roaming. Note: this may generate roaming fees. To prevent additional extra costs, disable it when you have successfully downloaded your MMS messages.
- If the above steps cannot resolve your issue, try inserting your card into a different phone. If the issue persists, contact your mobile carrier for assistance.
