Can't send some SMS messages
- Check if Fixed Dialing Numbers (FDN) is enabled.
Go to Fixed Dialing Numbers is enabled.
, and see ifIf Fixed Dialing Numbers is enabled, you can only send messages to contacts in the FDN list.
To send messages to other numbers, disable Fixed Dialing Numbers. On the FDN screen, tap "Disable FDN", then enter your PIN2 code. If you don't have it, contact your mobile carrier to get your PIN2 code.
- If you're using group SMS, make sure the screen doesn't turn off during the sending process. Ensure your screen stays on or is being charged while sending group messages.
Can't send any SMS messages
- Turn Airplane mode on and off, then try sending the message again.
- Check third-party SMS apps. If you are using a third-party SMS app, there might be compatibility issues. Go to Settings, search for Default apps, and see if the default option for Message is a third-party app. If it is, set the native Messages as Default apps.
- Verify SMS center number.
- Go toMessages > Profile photo > Settings > Advanced > SMS center number,and ensure the number is correct. If you don't know the correct number, contact your mobile carrier for assistance and set it up later.
- If the number is correct but setup fails, insert your SIM card into a differentphoneortabletand try setting it up again. If it fails again, there might be an issue with your SIM card. Consider changing your SIM card.
- Insert your SIM card into a differentphoneortabletand see if the issue persists.If the problem continues on the phoneortablet,contact your mobile carrier for further assistance.
If the above steps do not resolve your issue, please try the following actions.
- Clear data and cache in Messages. This step won't delete your messages.
Go to Settings, search for Apps, find Messages, tap .
- Reset network settings
Go to Settings, search for Reset network settings and tap Reset network settings, then see if you can receive messages.
This step won't delete data or files. It will only resetyour Wi-Fi,mobile network and Bluetooth settings, such as your hotspot and Bluetooth pairing configurations.Other system settings will not be reset.
- Back up your data, then perform Reset phone.
Go to Settings, search for Reset phone and tap Reset phone.
This step will erase all data from your device, including accounts, system and app data and settings, installed apps, music, images, and all files stored in the internal storage.
