My phone or tablet is unable to provide an accurate location or navigate
My phone or tablet is unable to provide an accurate location or navigate |
There are various factors that may affect the positioning and navigation results. To troubleshoot the issue, perform the following:
Check that the location settings are correct.
- Make sure your phone is connected to the Internet. Swipe down from the status bar to access the notification panel and enable Location.
- Check the location service settings as follows: Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel. Touch and hold Location to access the Location Services screen. Touch Advanced settings and enable Wi-Fi scanning to increase the network positioning accuracy.
- Check whether the navigation app you are using has access to Location. To enable the corresponding permission for the app, open Settings, search for and access Permission manager, find the navigation app you are using, and enable Location for it.
Check related geographical factors.
- High-rise buildings, densely concentrated buildings, roofs, and walls will affect GPS signals, resulting in inaccurate positioning results. It is recommended that you connect your phone to a Wi-Fi network or move your phone to an open area to receive better signal.
- GPS signals are weak in places with obstacles, such as tunnels, elevated highways, and mountainous areas. In general, GPS signals can go back to normal when you leave such places. If the GPS signal is weak all the time, restart your phone and try again.
Check other factors.
If you are using a metal case, or magnetic case or phone holder, remove the case or phone holder and try again. This is because metal or magnetic materials can affect or even shield GPS signals, so your phone may be unable to receive GPS signals while obtaining a location or navigating.
If the issue remains unresolved, take your phone and proof of purchase to an HONOR Authorized Service Center for assistance.
