HONOR Talents Global Design Awards 2024 Calls for Submissions to Celebrate the Fusion of Technology and Art

[Shenzhen, China – June 19, 2024] Global technology brand HONOR announced the launch of the 2024 HONOR Talents Global Design Awards earlier this month, inviting young creative talents from around the world to explore the boundless possibilities of the fusion of technology and art.

As an integral part of HONOR Talents, the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards strive to facilitate the development and growth of young individuals, empowering these emerging talents to unlock their full potential. With the theme "Inspire the Future," the 2024 HONOR Talents Global Design Awards encompass two distinct categories: Visual Communication Design and Art and Technology. Within these categories, there are six tracks: Themes, Magic Lock Screen, Standby, Watches, Accessories, and Art and Technology. The Magic Lock Screen and Standby tracks incorporate new features of HONOR's proprietary operating system, MagicOS 8.0, allowing young creatives to fully unleash their and bring consumers a more personalized smart interaction and a heightened technological aesthetic experience.

The competition boasts a substantial investment of over CNY 850,000 in the prize pool with a total of 93 awards. These prestigious awards include the Global 1st Place, winners and runners-up in each track, Best New Talent Award, Judges' Choice Award, AIGC Innovation Award, and Best Interactive Participation Award. Furthermore, competition winners will gain access to a range of exceptional benefits, such as employment opportunities, the chance to apply their work on HONOR products and exhibit their creations, expedited certification through the Developer Fast Track program, and an exclusive invitation to the Art and Tech Tour in China. The newly introduced Art and Tech China Tour offers winners with invaluable opportunities to visit the HONOR headquarter, partner universities and institutions, which enable them to gain precious insights from fellow artists and industry experts, enhancing their understanding into the industry and design skills.

In addition, the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards has partnered with internationally renowned design institutions such as the Central Academy of Fine Arts, China Academy of Art, Arts College of Sichuan University, L'École de design Nantes Atlantique in France, Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico, and Universiti Teknologi MARA in Malaysia to provide academic guidance. The jury panel includes esteemed artists such as Juncheng Ma, Dean of the School of Urban Design at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Yrjö Sotamaa, Founder of the Aalto University in Finland, Youmin Yuan, Dean of the International College at the China Academy of Art, and Caterina Di Bert, Founder of Istituto Marangoni in Italy, bringing professional and global perspectives to the contest.

During the HONOR Night in Paris, HONOR announced expansion of the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards to accept entries from European markets, providing emerging artists from worldwide with a platform to demonstrate their full potential. In addition, HONOR exhibited artwork with traditional cultural elements at globally recognized landmarks, including the Forbidden City in Beijing and Kuanzhai Alley in Chengdu, showcasing sophisticated traditional Chinese design aesthetic. Collaborating with Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico, HONOR held exhibitions and seminars, offering students educational and career development opportunities.

Since its launch in 2020, the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards has as gained widespread acclaim as an esteemed initiative. Over the past four years, HONOR has received over 25,000 submissions from more than 40 markets and 240 universities worldwide, with over half of the participants being university students, establishing it as a global stage for young talents to showcase their capabilities. As it enters its fifth year, the awards continue to garner recognition as a leading global platform for the convergence of art and technology. Collaborating with exceptionally talented designers, HONOR aims to infuse cutting-edge artistic concepts into its technology products, solidifying its reputation as a trailblazer in the industry.

The HONOR Talents Global Design Awards 2024 is now open for submissions. Design enthusiasts worldwide can participate by submitting their entries through the official competition website until September 30, 2024.
