Verify that your phone has a 5G plan

Please contact your carrier to confirm if your phone has a 5G plan. If you do not have a 5G plan, even if you can use the 5G network, the speed will be affected. If you have a 5G plan, verify with your carrier the speed of your plan, as some plans may have a maximum speed.

Verify that 5G has been enabled on your phone

Go to Settings, search for and access Status, and tap Network. If "NR XXX dBm XX asu” is displayed under Signal strength, it means that 5G is enabled. Otherwise, 5G is not enabled. The speed will be affected if 5G is not enabled. You can switch Airplane mode on and off and try again.

Test at other locations or use other apps

Internet speed is affected by the network environment, including the signal strength and quality, server of the testing app, etc. You can perform the speed testing at other locations or using other apps.

If you use Speedtest and it shows a low speed

If you use Speedtest, please go to Speedtest > Settings > Unit and make sure it is Mbps, 1MB/s=8Mbps, generally the default speed testing unit is Mbps.

In addition, different servers may have different speed result, you can manually select another server and try again.

If you cannot download Speedtest from Google Play Store, please download it from other sources, such as the website. Or you can use other speed testing apps, but the results may vary. Speedtest is used in here as an example.

Perform speed testing again at different times or different locations

Speed testing has a lot to do with real-time network conditions, servers, etc., there can be large fluctuations, please try several times at different times and different locations.

Restart the phone and try again

  • If the 5G signal is very good but internet speed is slow, we suggest you reboot your phone and try again.
  • If the Internet is still slow after restarting the phone, it may be a network configuration or compatibility problem. You can consult local carrier to confirm if 5G is supported in your area.

If the issue persists

If the issue persists, back up your important data and take your device and proof of purchase to an HONOR Authorized Service Center for assistance.
