1 Check whether the ringtone file has been deleted, moved, or your phone has been restored to factory settings
If the ringtone file has been deleted, moved, or your phone has been restored to factory settings, the default ringtone will be used. You need to set the custom ringtone again.
2 Check whether the ringtone file is stored on the memory card that has been removed
After you remove the memory card on which the ringtone file is stored, the default ringtone will be used. You need to set the custom ringtone again.
3 Check whether the ringtone file is damaged
If the ringtone file is damaged or the memory card that stores the ringtone file is damaged, the default ringtone will be used. Download the ringtone file again, or replace the memory card with a functional one and set the custom ringtone again.
4 Check whether Voice broadcast incoming calls is enabled
By design, when Voice broadcast incoming calls is enabled, your phone plays the default ringtone, before broadcasting the caller ID for incoming calls.
On the dialer screen, touch to access Settings, touch Voice control, and then disable Voice broadcast incoming calls.
5 Check whether Media Storage is disabled
Open Settings, search for and access Apps, go to , and make sure that Media Storage is enabled.
6 Check whether you have set the custom ringtone for both of the SIM cards (if they have been installed)
If your phone has two SIM cards installed, configure the settings for SIM 1 and SIM 2 respectively. To do so, open Settings, search for and access Sound, and configure the related settings.
7 If the issue persists
If the issue persists, please back up your data and bring your phone and proof of purchase to Honor Authorized Service Centers for inspection and repair.
